A postcard from far, far away

I wasn’t sure how to name this post since it’s been a very long time ago that I showed up here. A lot of things happened the last few months, good and bad and it’s been a crazy ride.
My love and passion for interiors and home styling did not change for one single moment -you guys know me a little bit by now- but I just couldn’t find the energy to write a post.
I didn’t even took a single picture around the house, shame on me!

But I’m here now after a very relaxing holiday and I’m slowly starting over again.

So tell me, how was your holiday?

Nice to see you again

Hello sun,

It’s so nice of you to join us after such a long time.
How was your time abroad? I hope you’ve treated people on the other side of the world just as well.
Anyway, life looks much easier and happier when you’re around.
Are you planning on staying around for long? We sure do hope so! Because we love the long walks, the warmth on our skin and all the blossoming trees.
Good to have you back.

Bring it on!

First things first, I want to wish you all a very happy, healthy and loving new year!

I hope you’ve all had a good holiday (without too much calories involved ;-) ).
Yesterday I received my order from De Kleine Zebra with my Mimi’Lou stickers. So in between changing diapers and little chats (that mostly sounds like gggggghh and hhhnnnnmmm.. ) with my daughter I changed up the wall next to her changing table.

Do you like it?

Basket full of fun

Besides my love for decorating my home I also have a thing for wrapping paper. Remember when I told you about the embarrassing amount of paint that I own? The same goes for my collection of wrapping paper.
Because you never know when you might need it right? Or when I feel like making a garland or something (let me tell you, that happens quite often).

These aren’t christmas presents but gifts for our little niece or nephew that’s on the way. It’s so much fun to wrap everything up, having in mind how the receivers reaction will be :-)

And you? Do you have a thing for wrapping paper as well?
Ps. The wrapping paper and gift tags are all from Ikea. Oh how I love this store!

New beginnings

A new season, a fresh start.
Now that fall is in full swing, I really feel this is a new start for me.
After a difficult start of 2013, a long and happy (pregnant) summer, the birth of our daughter and this whole new life for us, I really feel things are falling into place. Ofcourse, things will never really fall into place, but that’s life and we just have to roll with it.

But besides this new life as a parent, my house has some pretty new elements as well and I can’t wait to share!
I have done a lot of painting, redecorating and styling around the home.
And the good news is: I’m not done yet! (Am I ever done, really? Probably not)

But first a few photos of our babyshower and the delicious treats that we baked -in between the feeding and taking care of my daughter-. I made the decorations with maskingtape, baking rope, thin tissuepaper and foam sheets.
Now I’m not a pro in the kitchen, but it’s all about fun to me. And I just enjoy baking.
Oh and by the way, everything tasted just as good as it looks :-)

Have a great weekend!

Dutch tulips

If there is something that equals spring to me, it is tulips. The typical dutch flower makes such fresh and happy company that it will lift your mood in an instant. And it really doesn’t matter where you put them in, small vases in different sizes or like I did, in a bucket.

It wasn’t planned, I just throwed them in there to give them some water and then realized that they made a good couple together;-)

I hope everyone had a good easter weekend! Mine certainly was very good, lots of relaxing and finally.. A first drink outside in the sun!
I wish you a good week. Enjoy the longer evenings!

We’re back!

Goodmorning lovely people!

As you may have noticed I have been under the radar the last week because we were in New York. It was great and we sure did see everything. Still a bit jetlagged right now but that will get better everyday I hope;-)

And I am so happy because this week promises a hint of spring and I couldn’t be more excited! I digged out my closet a bit and found some fresh spring colours to wear, so when the temperatures are getting higher this week I will be so ready.

I wish you a great week, are you ready for spring yet?

Thank You!

So no typical Wednesday Wishes today, just a big thank you note! Yes, to you!

I want to thank you for visiting and following my blog, it’s really an honor to have followers and I hope we can have much more interaction together in the future!

I skipped the wednesday wishes today because right now, I feel like I have no material things to wish for. I am healthy, I have the sweetest friends and family, I have a job.. And the list goes on ;-)
Sure I’ll be making plenty of wishlists in the future, but for now I want to count my blessings.

So again, thank you a lot!
